Job Summary

The Commercial Product Manager is responsible for the global performance specialties market, which serves end markets such as coatings, energy & plastics. The role is responsible for the analysis, execution, and management of commercial aspects as they pertain to company product line strategies. It is also a collaborative role in which the Commercial Product Manager will work closely with marketing, sales, technology, supply chain, regulatory and operations in supporting the growth of Elementis.

Job Description

Product Category plans: Execution & implementation of category plans. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support creation of category plans based on analysis of market trends, Elementis capabilities & strategic intent
  • Create tracking mechanisms for key elements of category plans

Pricing and Positioning: Determines pricing & positioning strategies for existing & new products in alignment with business objectives & portfolio profitability. Key responsibilities include:

  • Create, maintain & roll out pricing for existing products to global organization
  • Determine pricing strategies for new products
  • Support sales & marketing teams in pricing & positioning topics on a day to day basis

Portfolio health: Maintain portfolio health analysis for product life cycle trends. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide input for supply chain & operations cycles on monthly basis on portfolio health
  • Propose additions and/or rationalizations to the portfolio in alignment with category plans & business strategy objectives
  • Participate in sustainable portfolio management discussions to drive portfolio health objectives

  • Basic awareness of product development processes

 

Position Requirements 

  • Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree is required in a technical/science field; advanced degree or MBA is desirable.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in marketing, sales, product management in coating chemicals or related market
  • Language Skills: Verbal and written fluency in English  
  • Working arrangements: Minimum 3 days a week in the office
  • Traveling required: up to 30% of travel required
