This translates to the ability to develop a wide range of viscosities, improved ceramic material hardness, enhanced impact resistance, and better homogeneity in high-solid dispersions.
When talc is added as a core additive, it plays a key role as a fluxing agent. Our high purity talc is added to the ceramic mass or glaze and melds seamlessly, catalysing the melting process and enhancing vitrification. This leads to reduced maximum firing temperatures, improved water resistance in ceramic mixes, lower porosity, decreased moisture expansion, minimised shrinkage, reduced warpage due to thermal expansion, and a noticeable increase in the mechanical strength of the ceramic matrix.
