Thickener solutions
Organoclay greases are characterised by their smooth texture and exceptional heat resistance, owing to the fact that the thickener remains stable and does not melt.
We offer a comprehensive selection of organophilic clays, including BENTONE® and BARAGEL®, which serve as effective thickeners for the lubrication industry. These organophilic clays can be seamlessly incorporated into a variety of systems, including petroleum oils, vegetable oils, silicone fluids, synthetic oils, and glycols.
BARAGEL® 3000, in particular, is a self-activated organoclay that eliminates the need for polar activators to achieve full dispersion. This not only simplifies the manufacturing process but also reduces batch cycle times by eliminating the step of adding a polar dispersant.
For greases conforming to FDA or similar authority requirements, water and food-grade ethanol are recommended as polar activators.

BARAGEL®
- A rheological additive is a gellant for a wide range of mineral oils, synthetic and other organic fluids of medium to low polarity.
- Easy to disperse and suitable for lubricating greases based on medium to high VI paraffinic oils, synthetic oils and other organic fluids. Many of these greases find application in mining, farming, military and metal refining.
BARAGEL® 10
- A rheological additive that is a novel, environmentally friendly organoclay gellant designed specifically for the vegetable oil-based grease and lubricant markets.
- Works effectively in a wide variety of vegetable oils in addition to synthetic esters and some conventional petroleum-based oils.
BARAGEL® 20
- A rheological additive is an organic derivative of a smectite clay and is designed for medium to low polarity systems.
- A thickening and rheological control agent for medium to high V.I. mineral oils, synthetic hydrocarbon fluids, such as poly-alpha-olefins, and vegetable oils.
BARAGEL® 3000
- A rheological additive that is a self-activating organoclay grease gellant for thickening of medium to high viscosity index mineral oils, synthetic oils and other organic fluids.
- An easy to disperse organoclay gellant, suitable for thickening medium to high VI paraffinic oils, synthetic oils and other organic fluids. Primarily used in the production of industrial and military grease also an extremely effective suspension aid for solid lubricants in oil carriers.
BENTONE® 27
- A rheological additive that is an organic derivative of hectorite clay. It is specifically designed to improve thickening efficiency in synthetic and other organic fluids of medium- to high-polarity.
- An effective gellant for esters, vegetable oils, polyalkylene glycols and certain silicone fluids.
BARAGEL® 34 GG
- A rheological additive is a gellant for a wide range of mineral oils, synthetic and other organic fluids of medium to low polarity.
- Easy to disperse and suitable for lubricating greases based on medium to high VI paraffinic oils, synthetic oils and other organic fluids. Many of these greases find application in mining, farming, military and metal refining.
BENTONE® 38
